So I have to say that the majority of the time I have spent so far on the Horn of Africa hasn't been too bad of weather. The last couple weeks we have had some rain at night, and the temp has been almost comfortable. The humidity was high, but mid 70's and 100% humidity isn't that bad.
The last few days however, it has started to heat back up. The 90's with 100% humidity is a completely different story. I am glad I won't be here to experience 130-150 degrees and 100% humidity, that is for sure.
I have about 3 weeks left here at Camp Lemonier, and I am beginning to look forward to my next big adventure. I will be spending 9 months at Camp Victory (I think) in Baghdad, Iraq starting in the middle of May. It will be a lot different, but at the same time more of the same from here. CLU living and KBR chow hall instead of PAE... I am looking forward to it though, it will be a new experience and I will probably get to see quite a few of the installations we have in Iraq in my 9 months.
Anyway, If you care enough to be reading this then I miss you and look forward to seeing you.

3 down... 5 to go....
It is hard to believe that I have only been here 3 weeks. I have about 5 more weeks on this current adventure until I will come home for a while. It will be great to see everyone when I get home.
This trip however has added greatly to the respect I have for the members of our military forces who spend 12-15 months at a time at dumps like this. The living conditions seem very spartan to me, and they are, many other residents agree, but the men and women who serve in our armed forces will often live in much worse conditions than this for much greater times.
The men and women of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp who make are stationed here at Camp Lemonier as part of CJTF HOA weren't given the option of coming out to work for a couple months, they were told to report to duty here and do so day in and day out. Many of them are reservists who were activated and sent here to the middle of nowhere. At least one of them is even a Dell Employee who was activated.
My hats off to all the men and women who make it so I can go where I want and do what I want at the expense of that basic liberty themselves...
